The Rust Belt refers to the old industrial heart of America that has experienced economic decline since the 1980’s and subsequent urban decay. The image however depicts a landscape that equally seems to be rusting away - a Green Belt going rusty perhaps. The title therefore suggests that success and failure are temporary staging posts along a continuous timeline and the hubris of wealth questioned.
